The works of the late Sarawakian legendary artist Raphael serve as a benchmark for future generations of artists aspiring to make it their profession.
Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts lecturer Sylvester described the late Raphael as one of the most remarkably contemporary artists Sarawak has ever produced and also as his mentor in the art world.

Sylvester also expressed gratitude to Hoan Gallery for providing a platform to showcase their creative journeys, describing the exhibition as an important opportunity for Sarawak’s art community to engage with the public.
“It also presents an opportunity to engage with researchers, students, and art enthusiasts on visual arts and cultural heritage,” he said.
Noting the growing interest in visual arts in Kuching, he added that the exhibition offers a valuable space not only to showcase their work but also to connect with a wider audience.
