KUCHING: La Promenade Mall is having a Christmas month jam packed with festivities including a Sunset Buffet @ Terrace Bar, School Holiday Night Run, Christmas Street Photo Contest and two new restaurants.
Activities are a combination of free events, contests with cash prizes and paid events like the buffet on mall’s rooftop, which is a continuation of the La Promenade’s highly successful Oktoberfest.
Mozaik, the most popular band from the mall’s Oktoberfest, is returning for six nights across two weekends, from Dec 9 until Dec 18.
Zoro by Domus, La Promenade’s fine dining restaurant, is doing the buffet.
Sunset Buffet @ Terrace Bar will be on the level five rooftop of La Promenade Mall, which has 360-views of the city skyline and mountain ranges.
Tickets are priced at RM110 for the buffet and concert, and under half price for children under 12. Alcoholic drinks will be sold separately.
Kota Samarahan Municipal Council chairman Datuk Peter Minos kicked off La Promenade’s December events on Sunday (note to ed: Nov 27), officially launching the photo contest at the Christmas Street.
Prizes total RM3,000 and entering is easy.

“Our Christmas Street and photo competition is an annual event. Last year’s winner absolutely melted our hearts, with parents and their kids playing dress up with the Christmas trees.”
Ong said the mall’s guiding principle is always community centric.
On Sunday, the mayor also joined restaurant critics and social media influencers for dinner at La Promenade’s Foo Man Ting, a new Chinese classical cuisine restaurant on level two.
Ong added: “Community engagement means a lot to us. In August, we launched a free once-a-week running club. On Dec 10, Sat, we’ll cap off the night runs with a special La Promenade School Holiday Night Run. For RM55-65, participants get two tees, vacuum flask, large 10cm medal and eco bag. We’ve already had nearly 500 sign ups.”
Meanwhile, the Sarawak Artist Society will have their largest ever annual show at La Promenade Mall starting Dec 9. Over 70 artworks will be on display and for sale.
The show follows from the Abstract exhibit, also by the society at La Promenade Mall, earlier this year which netted over RM70,000 in sales.
“We’re delighted to host the society next beautiful show. Not only will there be 70 artworks by their artists, but we’re told there will be also be the works of overseas artists on display as part of the Sarawak International Art Camp.”
