Hoan Gallery continues its second solo art show of 2024 with Joanne Lau’s Colourful Echoes.
Over 50 pieces of art are being displayed at Hoan Gallery and all proceeds will be donated to three non-governmental organisations.
Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak Deputy Minister, Datuk Sebastian Ting attended the grand opening ceremony.
Sarawak Arts Society members, arts collectors, corporate figures, and loyal patrons were there to give support to Joanne Lau’s first solo exhibition at Hoan Gallery.

Joanne Lau, a contemporary semi-abstract impressionist artist, celebrated her 70th birthday today, coinciding with the launch of her solo art show at Hoan Gallery in La Promenade Mall here.

The exhibition spanning from May 18 until June 15, features over 50 acrylic-on-canvas artworks, highlighting six distinctive series: “The Journey of My Life,” Abstract,” “My Rainforest,” “The Forest,” “The Garden,” and “The New Zealand.”

The opening ceremony of the exhibition today was attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting, members of the Sarawak Artists Association, art collectors, corporate member and loyal customers.

Among the collection, the centerprise “The Garden Blooms 1, 2024,” commands attention with a price tag of RM11,000. For Lau, the exhibition is particularly meaningful as she plans to donate a portion of the proceeds to three non- governmental organisations (NGOs) as a means of giving back to the community.

Born in Sibu in 1954, Lau reignited her passion for art in 2009 by drawing inspiration from her early school artworks.
