KUCHING: Mr DIY, the one-stop supplies retailer that promises “Always Low Prices”, has opened at level three of La Promenade Mall.
The outlet occupies more than one-third of the floor, which has been designated the Home Improvement section of the premium mall.
This new branch of La Promenade’s Mr DIY is the 796th outlet nationwide.

“We couldn’t be happier that such an established home-grown brand has chosen to open such a large store at La Promenade Mall,” property admin manager Shirley Loo said.
“Mr DIY will anchor our mall’s Home Improvement floor, which also houses Hoan Gallery selling Sarawakian art old and new, Parallel Design, which is a new architecture firm, The Bath Shop, an exclusive distributor of Kohler products, and Oppein Malaysia.”
Loo said Hock Seng Lee (HSL) required the home improvement tenants to design their units as showroom galleries, and not just as stores.

“We are a services-oriented mall. We aim to value-add and offer customers what they can’t get elsewhere. As a lease-only mall, we can always be selective with tenancy mix, ensuring high standards for La Promenade.”
Mr DIY offers everything from face masks to Chinese New Year decorations, from cookware to safety equipment.
“My own colleagues have been so excited about Mr DIY coming. We already have our eyes on things like water pressure pumps, lights and fixtures,” Loo added.
La Promenade Mall is running an online “Hidden Objects” competition to celebrate Mr DIY’s opening.
“Participants are to find a list of Mr DIY product from within the graphic, which we’ll be posting on @LaPromenadeMall. Circle the product icon in the image and submit your entry via a public post on Instagram and Facebook with the hashtags #LaPromenadeMall and #MRDIY,” digital marketing manager Sophia Ong said.
Prizes will include gift vouchers worth RM1000.
La Promenade Mall is located at the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway. It is the commercial focal point of the 200-acre premium and gated development by Hock Seng Lee.
SugarBun will also open in February at La Promenade Mall’s ground floor.
