HSL will open its latest clubhouse at La Promenade on May 1, 10am -- marking the launch of a new RM2.8mil residents’ facility at Precinct Grande -- with a weekend of activities in partnership with Level Up Fitness.

FACILITIES: HSL is pleased to announce the opening of our new Clubhouse on May 1, Fri, 10am.
The Grande Clubhouse is the focal point of Precinct Grande, the third residential phase within the 200-acre La Promenade gated community. It is the most expensive residents’ facility HSL has built to date.
The three-storey clubhouse has a built-up area of 8,126sqft, with dedicated areas for a gym, yoga, reading and relaxation. Its ground floor is anchored by a multi-purpose room and a 24-metre saltwater pool. The facility also includes wheelchair-friendly parking bays.
CLUB: A 24-metre pool is tucked between landscaping and the clubhouse’s ground floor multi-purpose room.
BALANCED: The three-storey clubhouse spans 8,126sqft, thoughtfully designed with dedicated spaces for fitness, yoga, reading, and relaxation.
Designed by the renowned architect couple Ming Ngi and Suh Chee, better known as MNSC, the clubhouse is surrounded by HSL’s signature landscaping, with more than 100 plants around the facility.
It is exclusively for the 90 homeowners of Precinct Grande, the most luxurious phase in the gated community.
“We knew from the planning stages in 2017 that this clubhouse had to be special,” said HSL managing director Datuk Paul Yu Chee Hoe.

YU: Everything we have done at the clubhouse reflects the La Promenade ethos of going the extra mile.
“We told MSNC to design without limitations. We asked them to design what they wanted, and we would build it closely to their specifications.

MNSC: Lau Ming Ngi, Director of MNSC, said the design emphasizing openness, with ground-floor spaces extending into the surrounding greenery.
“The result is a striking off-form concrete structure, with a high, cathedral-like atrium above the gym, views towards the landscaping, and flexible, functional spaces that can be naturally ventilated or air-coned.”

DIRECT: Precinct Grande Clubhouse featuring a column-free, off-form design with skylights that allow for ample natural light.
Yu said HSL’s engineering team paid close attention to bring the original concept to life with minimal compromise.
This can be seen in the large column-free spaces, double-height glazing, and steel staircases. Careful mechanical and electrical planning, allowing services to be hidden within walls for a clean aesthetic.
STRIKING: The off foam concrete building is not only pleasing from the outside, but the method also enables columnless interiors.
SLEEK: Custom-made lightweight steel staircases.

PEACE: Level 3 providing a private and quiet space for residents to enjoy relaxation and reflection.
“Everything we have done at the clubhouse reflects the La Promenade ethos of going the extra mile,” Yu said.
“Everywhere you look in La Promenade, there is effort. Sometimes, what you don’t see is what we are most proud of. You do not see telephone poles or electrical poles. What you see instead is greenery.”
Grande Clubhouse will be opened to the public for at least three weekends as part of HSL’s property showcase and community engagement programme.
For the opening weekend, HSL is partnering with Level Up Fitness, whose coaches will run a series of health and fitness activities, including gym classes, yoga and pilates.

HOLISTIC: From strength and fitness fundamentals to pilates and yoga sessions, each programme is thoughtfully designed to promote a balanced and active lifestyle.
“HSL and Level Up Fitness first worked together almost a decade ago, when we helped design La Promenade’s first clubhouse at Precinct Luxe,” said Level Up Fitness founder Kenny Sia.
“I remember being impressed even then, because it is rare for a developer to involve a gym operator so early. We were invited to give input from the start.
“For Clubhouse, there is a real luxury of space. Residents will be spoilt for choice. They can use the gym, lift weights, do cardio on the treadmill, swim, or simply relax and read a book surrounded by landscaping. Level Up coaches can be booked for private lessons.
EXCLUSIVE: Level Up offers coaches for one-on-one training sessions.
Sia also praised HSL for installing an automated external defibrillator at the clubhouse.
“We raised the idea during preparations and HSL immediately said yes. That speaks to HSL’s approach of being professional-led,” he said.
Launched in 2017, La Promenade is one of East Malaysia’s largest gated communities. It was master-planned as a “township within a park”, and its development led HSL to create its own landscaping team and property management services.
HSL’s landscaping team now employs 30 people.
La Promenade’s main boulevard alone has more than 1,300 Norfolk pine trees, lined with over 22,000 tea-leaf shrubs (each metre of shrub contains 10 tea-leaf plants), and each residential precinct contains at least 10 different plant species.
HSL is currently updating La Promenade’s green masterplan, with the aim of creating 7km of landscaped walkways around a green loop and main boulevard.
HSL executive director Simon Lau has often described La Promenade’s landscaping as its “signature dish”, a guiding principle repeated in the planning of every new phase.
